Six2Six Soccer

What is six2six?

The six2six Soccer Marathon is an annual charity event, a continuous game
of soccer played by participants in one-hour increments. Last year’s 12-hour
event, held outdoors at Hollow Park in Woodbury on Columbus Day
weekend, raised over $3,000. This year’s event will be held indoors at the
Connecticut Sports Complex in New Milford the weekend before
Thanksgiving and will run for a full 22 hours (see below)! The purpose of the
soccer marathon is to have fun and celebrate community while raising
money for the Community Services Council of Woodbury, the Southbury
Needy Fund, and other local charities. We will also collect non-perishable
foodstuffs for the Connecticut Food Bank and soccer equipment for Futbol
Friends International.
How does six2six work

Don’t worry, you don’t have to play for the full 22 hours! Players can sign up
for one hour, two hours, or as long as they like. We have use of both fields
at the Connecticut Sports Complex, and the aim is to keep one field going 6
vs. 6 with adults and the other field 7 vs. 7 (or 8 vs. 8) with children--though
it may be difficult to have the kids playing at 3.00 a.m.! Last year we had
about 115 participants; this year we’re hoping for double that number.
When & Where?

The 2008 Soccer Marathon will be held at 6.00 pm on Saturday
November 22 to 4.00 pm Sunday November 23 (a 22-HOUR marathon
this year) at Connecticut Sports Complex, New Milford, CT
